Step 1 – Cleaning
Clean the area of the trunk lip where the spoiler’s tape will stick to. Use Isopropyl alcohol to clean the area.
If you have a ceramic coating the adhesive tape will have trouble sticking to the paint. Use a magic sponge and Isopropyl alcohol to remove the coating, but only on the area where the spoiler will stick to. See Step 2 to work out the area you need to clean.
Step 2 – Dry fit
Without removing the adhesive tape film, place the spoiler on the trunk lid to check the position and fit.
Measure the left and right side to the trunk edge to centre the spoiler. A soft sowing tape measure can help for this.
When you are happy with the alignment, place some painters tape on the edges, underneath and above the spoiler to mark the correct position.
Step 3 - Fitment
Peel the tape off, Gently put the spoiler into position, then press it down firmly all the way across. While applying some pressure, put some strips of painters tape over the spoiler to hold it to the trunk.
The adhesive pressure sensitive tape needs 3 days to cure after which you can remove the painters tape that is securing it.
